Why Khameleon?
I have been lucky enough to work across theatre, fashion and film, but in so many of the jobs I have had, I have perpetually been the only person of colour backstage, or at best one of just a handful. Khameleon has been founded to continue bringing diverse creatives into every part of the creative process, and to let them share their lived experiences along the way. I often feel so pulled between different parts of my identity, feeling I must choose some aspect over another to fit someone else’s criteria. I love that at Khameleon, I can bring to the table all of who I am - my heritage, my experiences, and my creative voice.
Why Medea?
I never fail to marvel at how Medea was written in 431 BC, nearly two and a half millennia ago, because every time I sit and work on the script, I find a story that relates so much to modern experiences. Her story of migration, broken promises, and otherness speaks to so many people today, while also being a dramatic journey full of intrigue, betrayal, and power. The environment we have created around the show as well, with our incredible team and partners, just makes Medea an absolute joy to work on. I cannot wait to keep bringing her to life through both the film, and the full production.
